What We Do

Safe Harbor Kitchen is located at 706 Joseph Street, in the Banks District. A takeout meal is served at 5:30 p.m. each Monday and Tuesday evening. Also, the Safe Harbor Pantry serves over 10,000 pounds of food a month to over 500 families in need as well as providing hygiene products. A new program has begun where we distribute 17,000-21,000 pounds of food to over 1000 people. We have partnered with the Eastern Food Bank of Michigan to provide this mass food distribution. We receive between 18 and 25 pallets of food, which we are able to distribute to those in need. This puts our total monthly food distribution at over 100,000 pounds! Mass food giveaway is every Tuesday. Safe Harbor is committed to providing respect, hospitality and a welcoming space where their spirit can grow. We encourage our volunteers to extend themselves to our guests in whatever ways they are comfortable.
